Our visit to this very secluded cemetery during the "witching hour" equipped with equipment borrowed from future team member Krystal. We were green but this became the spark that would officially become Misfit Apparitions eight months later.

Highlights:

  • The many visitors already there at 3:30 a.m.

Where else in the U.S. can someone spend the night at a place with such importance to a state's independence? This fort covers over 2 1/2 acres and predates the American Revolution by 25 years!

Highlights:

  • The Quarters. A cozy two bedroom apartment whose backdoor opens up to after hours access to both the inner court and quadrangle

  • Jiggling of the 2nd BR doorknob

  • Sounds of canon blasts while standing atop a bastion

What Don calls "an antique store on steroids", our rooms were on the 2nd floor and we literally had it all to ourselves with just one other guest staying in a downstairs room. Just about every room has its own theme.

Highlights:

  • The Disappointments Room. An attic area available for an additional charge and where we heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs when no one was there

  • Mike slept alone in room 19, the room where a jilted bride hanged herself from the bed's headboard -- yes, the headboard really is that tall

  • Ernest hearing the sound of someone wearing boots walking down the hall outside the bedroom in the early morning. Again, nobody else on the 2nd floor

The Saratoga Lights located on an eight-mile stretch of rural road located in east Texas.

  • Lots of mosquitos!

  • Conducted an experiment that we concluded debunked the "traveling light"

Home to the unsolved murder of two adults and six children under the age of 12 and is very haunted.

Highlights:

  • Lots of EVPs and disembodied voices from male, female and children

  • Very brief apparition caught on video

  • Smell of cigarette smoke in the attic

Probably the most haunted location in Texas in terms of number of resident spirits.

  • The 1925 Runnels County Jail. An abandoned jail across the street available for an additional charge payable to the county which is rented out for six hours and where we recorded shadow people

Supposedly inspired by school bus crash that happened several states away, the legend has grown ever since that a similar accident occurred here.

  • Several experiments using vehicles but evidence of vehicles being pushed over railroad tracks is not conclusive
